The first instalment of our new regular blog feature see’s us take a look at Virginia Tech.

Earlier this month newly formed Austin FC had first pick in the MLS SuperDraft. They selected midfielder Daniel Pereira from Virginia Tech. Daniel played two seasons of college soccer there before entering the SuperDraft as a Generation adidas player

Based in a town called Blacksburg in Virginia, the College also boasts a number of campuses across the state as well as an international campus in Riva San Vitale, Switzerland.

The University offers hundreds of programs for every level. Some of their top ranked courses include; Sciences, Natural Resources and Environment, Liberal Arts and Human Sciences, Engineering, Hospitality Leisure Management, Architecture and Life sciences.

One of the biggest differences between college in America and the UK is that the learning environment involves more than just mastering a single discipline or major. Virginia Tech helps students gain knowledge in at least one discipline whilst also creating opportunities to build skills in communications, critical thinking, design thinking, teamwork, and analysis.
