We are thrilled to announce that Soccer Assist client Saran Sutharsan has secured a place and committed to Morton College in Illinois, on a soccer scholarship. From London, the former Pro Direct Academy Winger will be joining Morton’s soccer roster this fall.
Saran has had a passion for football for as long as he can remember. The tricky winger has played at Pro Direct previously, with the team lauding his adaptability for the game. When speaking about his playing style, Saran is best described as a fast-paced and skilful winger, with his play reminiscent of Man city’s skilful winger Riyad Mahrez.
The Morton’s assistant coach, Alejandro Franco, is pleased to have Saran on board and is excited for him to start playing in the NJCAA Division. Alejandro, who has been a successful Coach at Morton College, stated that “Saran looks like a player who will fit our style of play! The opportunities here have improved and I’m excited to have a kid from the UK to add to our success.” Saran is heading to Morton College this August to begin playing for his new team. Saran attended our Trial Day in March 2017 and has impressed us ever since. Soccer Assist Director Junior had high praise for the lad, saying that “Saran is a special player and I have no doubt he will be impactful throughout the season. He was unfortunate to not put pen to paper at Southampton FC or Charlton Athletic but I’m sure this is the right step in his future aspirations. We are excited to see him contribute to Morton’s attack. Good Luck Saran!”
Saran is the sort of player every coach wants in their team. He’s great in possession and always wants the ball, he keeps the team ticking. We want to wish Saran all the best during his time at Morton College and we look forward to seeing what he can do next.
