“I’ve had the pleasure of coaching Joe for the past several seasons as part of The Tunbridge Wells Foresters Saxons squad. Joe always impresses me with both his attitude and ability on the pitch. Primarily playing as a central attacking midfielder, with the versatility to operate effectively either flank, Joe is a creative and intelligent player who regularly influences games. He has excellent vision and is particularly effective at picking out forward passes in tight spaces. His composure under pressure allows him to navigate crowded areas with ease, often turning defence into attack. His finishing is strong and he has a real instinct for finding space and timing his runs. In terms of attitude Joe is a pleasure to work with. He is willing to put in the hard yards, will always listen and try out new training drills without complaint and I think most importantly is happy to accept constructive criticism and focus on areas of his game that could be improved.”
“It is with great pride and enthusiasm that I write this reference for Joe Gee, who has recently earned a well-deserved football scholarship in the United States. I have had the privilege of watching Joe grow and develop both as a player and a person, and I can say with confidence that he possesses all the qualities needed to excel at the next level. Joe served as the captain of the Holmwood House School football team, where he led by example on and off the pitch. His leadership was always composed and mature beyond his years, and he consistently inspired his teammates with his work ethic, professionalism, and commitment to the game. In addition to his school success, Joe also played for Langton Green, where he continued to develop his game in a competitive environment, often standing out for his intelligence, pace, and technical ability. Joe is a naturally gifted footballer — quick, agile, and incredibly comfortable on the ball. What sets him apart is his footballing intelligence and vision. He reads the game exceptionally well, picks out passes that others simply don’t see, and has a calmness under pressure that makes him an asset in any position. Technically, he is outstanding — his first touch, close control, and ability to glide past players make him a constant threat on the field. Beyond his individual talent, Joe is a selfless team player. He understands the importance of collective success and always puts the needs of the team before his own. Whether he’s tracking back to support the defence or unlocking defences with a killer pass, Joe’s impact is always felt in multiple phases of the game. He is not only a standout footballer but also a humble, hard-working, and respectful young man who approaches every challenge with the right mindset. I have no doubt he will thrive in the U.S. collegiate football system and continue to impress with his blend of talent, intelligence, and character. Joe has all the ingredients to be successful at the highest levels of the game. He is a joy to coach, a leader among his peers, and a player that any team would be lucky to have.”
