“Having coached Joseph over the last couple of years at Chipstead and Ashtead, I have always enjoyed working with him in training and in games. I have always seen a player with high technical proficiency as his base level - noticable in technical practices. Combined with this, his athletic profile has also enabled him to play leftback, left wingback and Centreback, coping well physically in games with natural stamina. Techncially, has also coped well the positional requirements in different positions. In Possession, has a calm demeanour in skill excecution (under pressure), has improving his offensive game as wingback this season, and has continued to be a dangerous set piece deliverer. Out of possession, he has developed his positional game and undertanding of roles in formations. He has the capacity and potential to carry on his upward trajectory as a footballer, and person. Really loved working with him, and excited to see what he can achieve in the future. Seen by his pears in the team over the last two years as a top performer (Players’ Player of the year last year).”
“Joseph has developed into an accomplished and cultured left wing-back for Chipstead U18s. He is equally comfortable operating at left-back or on the left side of a back three. Intelligent and composed, he reads the game extremely well and continues to make strong technical progress. He can distribute the ball effectively over both short and long distances and is also strong in the air. Joseph has an excellent attitude and temperament. He is highly coachable and always eager to ”
“I am pleased to provide this reference for Joseph Sear, who is applying for a football scholarship. I have had the privilege of working with Joseph for the past year in a primarily academic capacity, however I can confidently say that he is an exceptional candidate for this opportunity. Despite this being a relatively short period, his charisma, energy and love for sport has been obvious. He is hardworking and conscientious, consistently giving his best in every scenario. His leadership qualities are evident—whether motivating teammates, setting a positive example, or showing maturity well beyond his years. His positive and infectious personality makes him a valued member of any team, helping to create a supportive and motivated environment for those around him.
Academically, Joseph works diligently and maintains a responsible, organised approach to his studies. He performs well across topics within his BTEC Sport Diploma course and shows an obvious enjoyment for sport as a whole, balancing his academic responsibilities with his athletic commitments with impressive discipline. I have no doubt that Joseph will thrive in a scholarship environment, contributing both athletically and academically. He is dedicated, coachable, and possesses the personal qualities needed to succeed at the collegiate level.”
